In a resolution the municipal council of Sassari forwarded the state of natural disaster to the Region of Sardinia, following the heavy rains that devastated numerous homes, businesses and public goods throughout the city on 10 September.

Now the regional council, in case it accepts the request of the municipality of Sassari, will have to establish the criteria for disbursement of the contributions to compensate the citizens affected by the water bomb, which in turn will have to demonstrate in the documents (also with photographic documentation) the proof of the damages suffered.

The Municipal Civil Protection will shortly, through a public notice, communicate the terms and procedures for submitting applications. In any case, in Sassari, during the very strong thunderstorms of 10 September, there were numerous interventions by the firefighters to help families and managers of public establishments in difficulty. Therefore, the appraisals of these interventions must also be included in any documentation to be provided to the Region.
