“There are many families who have lost a child and we go where there is need”. Brunella Seghenzi, president of “La forza della vita” dedicated to her son Riccardo Simula who passed away at 23, talks about the association’s initiatives. Among which, the latest in chronological order, the fourth edition of the “Giornata dei figli in paradiso” (Day of children in paradise), which was held in Piazza d’Italia on Friday. A day dedicated to raising awareness on the issue of those who are orphaned by their children.

“The emotion is always the same but amplified because every year new things are added. This time we have included a resuscitation and airway clearance course by the Proform Training Center”. With knowledge that is able to save a life in some cases. “The association has 25 families. We are also operating outside the Sassari area and we are also thinking of reaching Olbia”. Help comes from sharing one’s pain with those who have lived the same experience. “Many people - continues Brunella - who came to us in very critical conditions, and were also sent to psychiatrists, today have their lives in their hands. The pain remains, of course, indelible, but among us we also help each other to smile and have a bit of fun”.

Followed by a psychologist in every activity and also by a legal consultant, the members participate in initiatives even far from the center in via Torino where they meet every week. "Another family will join soon. They were left alone after losing their daughter because no one wants to listen to them anymore". And for those who have lived the same drama, seeing other young people disappear, due to illness, accident, and the many other fatalities of life, reawakens the same emotions of suffering. On Friday, when the Happy Clown was also present, as on other occasions, dozens of balloons were released into the air after the blessing of Don Eugenio Cavallo. "It's our way of sending a kiss to the sky carried by the wind".
