The list of witnesses of the prosecutor in the trial for the disappearance of the surgeon Marco Spissu, who died of Covid in April 2020, was rejected.

In recent days, the panel of judges in Sassari, presided over by Giancosimo Mura, ordered the inadmissibility of the list of the public prosecutor Paolo Piras because it was presented late. In the proceedings, the witnesses chosen by the defense represented by the lawyers Giovanni Sechi and Silvio Piras will be heard.

The only defendant in the trial is Fiorenzo Delogu, at the time of the events the director of the ATS, who is accused of failure to perform official duties for not having the surgeon perform the swab , called to operate on a patient inside the Policlinico, where he may have contracted the virus.

In recent months, the Court of Appeal had acquitted three managers of the ATS and three of the Policlinico, sending only Delogu to trial. Attorney Federica Chironi objected to the nullity of the trial because the party she represents, the liquidation management of the ATS, had not been cited in the second-degree trial. However, the request was rejected by the Panel.
