Donations for the neonatal intensive care unit of the AOU of Sassari.
The promoter of the initiative is the Asd Apnea Team Sassari which, in recent days, has donated to the department of Viale San Pietro a large number of muslins and bodysuits for newborn babies.
"We thank them from the bottom of our hearts - says Dr. Ornella Biasetti - these gifts are very useful for our department and for our little ones, especially for extremely preterm children."
The muslins will be used to contain the newborns during bathing and feeding while the bodysuits will be worn by the little ones once they come out of the incubator. The donation takes on a particular value also because, in some cases, not everyone can afford these items of clothing.
"Sometimes," explains the doctor, "we meet people who are in need and, also thanks to gifts like these, the facility has everything it needs." The gesture, wanted by the Apnea Team, is not the first of the organization.
"We also dedicate ourselves to social issues - says its president Augusto Vannucci, present together with his vice Marco Delrio - and we lend a hand when needed. For example, when we hold spearfishing competitions, we always give the catch to the poor families of the area".
