A control room to speed up work and identify action priorities. This is the outcome of yesterday's meeting in Sassari between the president of the Region Alessandra Todde, the mayors of the Metropolitan Network, the extraordinary administrator of the Metropolitan City Gavino Arru and the coordinator of Tips Sergio Salis. The long-awaited meeting took place at Palazzo Ducale to take stock of the situation regarding the funds to be allocated to the Northwest and their programming while the process for merging the Network into the Metropolitan City continues.
"We want to plan the actions on the agenda - confirms Giuseppe Mascia, mayor of Sassari and president of the Network - starting from territorial policies, transport, health and economic supplies".
A figure that should be around 800 million euros even if there is no official confirmation. "The issue of spending resources is not the fact of having them available - clarifies Todde - but of having projects that can be implemented. The money is there, in particular with the Development and Cohesion Funds, what is missing is the fact of defining planning times, which may be different from the past, and a shared vision of when these programs will be available".
Let's move forward with the action, which must however be concerted, overcoming the mistakes of the past. "We know that the decline is also our responsibility - admits Sergio Salis, coordinator of the Tavolo Istituzioni Parti Sociali -. We are committed to collaborating but we ask for equalization of resources, and decentralization in the decision of strategic choices because many are imposed from above". The control room, a direct emanation of the president, is for now the solution to move beyond the chronic impasse that has afflicted the Sassari area for years.
