An all-out action. It is that of the local police of Sassari that this morning, in the Command of via Carlo Felice, presented the balance of a year of activity.

"The police force - explains Mayor Giuseppe Mascia - represents a strategic sector for our municipal administration, as it has demonstrated by ensuring security during the holiday events."

The issue that emerges, in all its drama, is that of road accidents. "1356 that we have detected - reports the commander of the Municipal Gianni Serra - 488 with injuries, 21 pedestrians with very serious injuries and unfortunately 2 deaths recorded".

Almost 80% of the accidents occurred in clear weather conditions, 90% of which were caused by distraction. In this sense, 718 fines were reported for using a cell phone while driving, 76 reports because the drivers were under the influence of alcohol, 36 because they were under the influence of drugs. Over 112 thousand cars were in circulation in the capital of Turritano, almost one per inhabitant, and the highest number of accidents, as always, had Predda Niedda as its setting. Among the specialized units, the environmental one stands out with 4774 checks and a 200 percent increase in crime reports. Serra highlights the operations related to the judicial police, with 353 investigation delegations from the public prosecutor "to demonstrate", he underlines, "the growing trust of the prosecution in us".
