Suspected of having drugs, he tries to escape from the carabinieri in Sassari.
The man, a 31-year-old Nigerian, stopped by the military over the weekend for a personal search, started running, chased by the police along Via Rosello, and then disappeared into Corso Trinità after getting rid of a sock.
Inside the carabinieri found several ovules of cocaine and heroin for a total of 50 grams.
The non-EU citizen was arrested in the following days and taken to court in Sassari for a summary trial. Judge Sergio De Luca ordered the Nigerian, defended by the lawyer Elisabetta Udassi, to have his arrest validated.
The 31-year-old is currently in prison in Bancali, the judge confirmed the precautionary custody.
