Sassari, bad weather and traffic chaos: roads like rivers, some sections closed to traffic

Discomfort in Sassari due to the heavy rains today that started this morning around 9. The areas of the city that, due to their conformation, are prone to flooding were hit first, further aggravated by the lack of cleaning of the drains and manholes.

At the moment the Municipality has decided to close some roads, such as the Santa Maria underpass, which has however been reopened to traffic entering the city.

Traffic congestion in via Predda Niedda, which is however returning to normal; we also report the collapse of the road surface in via Forlanini, Strada 33 in Predda Niedda, flooded and impassable, strada 12 in piazzale Eurospin, flooded following the overflowing of the Calamasciu stream.

Funtana di Lu Coibu, road 291 to Alghero, also closed, also flooded.

The local police, present in various impassable areas, are indicating the passable routes.
