Sassari, assault with weapons of war and excavator on the Mondiapol vault. Shots fired at the police, bandits fleeing

Attack on the Mondiapol headquarters of Caniga in Sassari, attacked by a group of at least ten armed bandits who also repeatedly opened fire.

The criminals first strewn the streets of the area with nails, to try to slow down the arrival of the police. Numerous cars were also burned, to create "blocks" on the main arteries, including 131.

Then the robbers entered the security company's headquarters by breaking through a wall with the bucket of an excavator . Then they shot towards the sentry box and inside to scare the security guards and take possession of the money kept in the vault. Finally, they fled, also shooting at a police car.

Despite the violence of the assault, no injuries were reported. The extent of the loot is still unknown, but the heist - according to rumors yet to be confirmed - could have yielded several million euros.

According to some, the bandits used weapons of war, perhaps Kalashnikovs, which they knew how to handle "like experts".

The shots fired against the carabinieri car and in particular against the sentry box - with the guard who was saved by the bulletproof glass - would suggest an uncommon precision and no scruples.
