Noises, garbage and drugs . The life of the residents of via dei Gremi in Sassari has long been the antechamber of hell so much so that, in recent days, some of them have staged a protest .
"On weekends," says a resident, "dozens of kids arrive and reduce the gardens to a concentration of garbage." The signs are evident the next morning and represent the desperation of the environmental workers who will have to clean up.
Cans, bottles of spirits, often smashed, bags with food scraps, vomit: the scene is a hymn to degradation. "They make the homeless buy alcohol from a nearby discount store and arrive with bags full to the brim."
From that moment on, alcoholic nights filled with shouting begin. "If you try to protest," says a woman who lives in the buildings on the street, "they throw bottles at you. They broke my shutters."
All the residents wish to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals . "One had his car damaged because he rebelled."
The whole area, even behind the garages, is covered in rubbish, bodily waste and syringes because some drug addicts take advantage of the secluded areas to take drugs.
«And in the gardens near via Padre Zirano - they report - some of them place the syringes with the needle facing upwards to prevent the animals from approaching».
Among the many wastes illegally deposited in the nearby bins by people who do not live in the area, even fish scattered on the sidewalks. "We would like someone from the Municipality to intervene - they declare - and bring back some order as has not happened in recent years".
