Almost 30 thousand euros disappeared from the account in 7 months . In Porto Torres between January and August 2020 someone stole the large sum with the credit card of an 85-year-old, withdrawing each time from the ATM and causing a real "hole" in the elderly man's substances. Suspicions immediately fell on the son, then 54 years old , a difficult experience with drug addiction, who ended up on trial accused of improper use and counterfeiting of payment instruments other than cash .

The relationship, it is reported in the discussion, in the court in Sassari, is not idyllic between the two relatives and for the prosecutor Lara Senatore the responsibility of the man would be proven so much so that, even considering the mitigating circumstances, she requests a sentence of one year and 8 months of imprisonment and a 700 euro fine. But for the defense lawyer Andrea Piroddi the alleged guilt of the accused is far from certain and the victim, the father, could provide evidence to exonerate him. An "assist" that in reality he gives to the other son confiding in him that, on a couple of occasions, his credit card had been stolen . No one knows the face of the thief nor can it be taken for granted that it is that of the 54-year-old, underlines the lawyer, who asks for the acquittal of his client. And today in court also the judge Paolo Bulla decrees his innocence , acquitting the accused for not having committed the crime.
