In Caniga, a village on the outskirts of Sassari, sarcasm meets protest. At the beginning of the nearby Maccia d'Agliastru road, a fake coffin lid appeared with the words "Run, run" and the inevitable cross above it. A joking warning, but not too much, which refers to the many accidents that have occurred in the area, caused mainly by drivers' high speed. Feet pressed inappropriately on the accelerator in areas where the roads are narrow and visibility is poor.
But the warning, in reality, represents a signal to higher spheres of Caniga , because it points to the city politics that has not kept the promises on the measures to force a speed limit in the village. In fact, for years, committees and citizens have been asking for speed bumps to be placed in front of the church of San Domenico and in front of the schools, the nerve centers and dangerous points where cars speed by without regard for pedestrians.
Up to now the commitment has not been kept but the hope of the inhabitants is that, even with the sarcastic warnings, something will move .
