Fully acquitted of the charge of stealing 121 sheep worth tens of thousands of euros.
Judge Antonietta Crobu's decision at the court in Sassari which puts an end to an affair that began in September 2019 in the countryside of Cossoine.
In that period, according to the accusations, the two defendants, a 47-year-old from Sassari and a 46-year-old from Bosa, stole 100 adult sheep, a ram and 20 replacement lambs, from a farm owned by a woman from Cagliari.
With the latter the man from Sassari had an accident contract until recently, i.e. a collaboration between those who have livestock and those who take delivery of them and then divide the profits.
Then the disputed facts: once the man from Sassari left, the items were given to the man from Bosano and, ten days later, they disappeared, a theft that the 73-year-old blames on both of them. But yesterday the lawyer of the 47-year-old from Sassari, Gian Marco Mura, demonstrated how several sheep that were on the farm belonged to his client and that these had mixed with those of the woman.
Therefore, during the checks, the necessary checks were not carried out to distinguish which ones belonged to one or the other.
Absolution therefore because the fact does not exist for both.
The other accused was defended by the lawyer Giovannina Fresi, while the prosecutor had asked for one year and 5 months of imprisonment for the 47-year-old and one year for the 46-year-old.
