Trumpets, tears of joy and heartfelt hugs: the magic of Sartiglia invades Oristano .

This morning, with the anniversary of Candelora, the 2023 edition of the carousel scheduled for 19 and 21 February came to life.

The day began early with the celebration of masses in the church of San Giovanni dei Fiori and in the Cathedral for the blessing of the candles.

Then the most engaging moments for the two Componidoris, announced by the cadenced rhythm of the drums.

A few minutes after 12, the arrival of the Gremio dei Contadini in via Alghero is an irrepressible emotion for Danilo Casula who, having received the official investiture, lets himself go into a long embrace with s'Oberaiu Majori Mauro Solinas.

The invocation "Santu Giuanni t'assistada" also accompanies the delivery of the candles to su segundu Tore Montisci and su terzu Bernardino Ecca.

At 12.30 sharp the script is repeated in via Marroccu. Between two wings of the crowd, the Gremio di San Giuseppe makes its way with Antonio Mugheddu in the lead in Majorale en cabo: the delivery of the candles to Giampaolo Mugheddu and his companions Gianluca Mugheddu and Francesco Loi snatches more than a tear in this case as well.

Candlemas ritual also for the youngest: at 10.30 the president of the Pro Loco Gianni Ledda, accompanied by the mini drummers and mini trumpeters, reached the bowling club in via Ciusa to deliver the blessed candle to the Componidoreddu Lorenzo Carboni and his companions Luca Piras and Filippo Corona.

Just over two weeks separate the city from the Sartiglia.
