Sardinian farmers with a bitter taste in their mouths after the request for an institutional meeting with the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni . A meeting that " was not granted to us ". «This is a disgrace to all Sardinians. There is no way he would come to Sardinia and have time for the electoral campaign and not to address the problems of the Sardinians with those who asked for a meeting", explains the spokesperson of the Sardinian tractor movement, Roberto Congia.

"We had asked for an institutional meeting through the right channels - he continues - and we used common sense, for example, avoiding blocking the airport". The protest therefore does not stop and continues to the bitter end: «Tomorrow we will be in Tula», confirms Congia. The demonstration, in view of the elections , could however undergo some changes: «We are evaluating the possibility of temporarily leaving the garrison at the port of Cagliari to allow farmers and shepherds to go and vote. But it would only be a suspension. Ready to fight again."

In the meantime, a statement was also released by the garrison, which highlights, among other things, the problems of the island: «How can the prime minister ignore a protest that has lasted for several weeks in favor of the electoral campaign? Do those who represent us really care about citizens' problems? We know very well that 3/4 legislatures were not enough to resolve some issues, but we never expected to find the doors closed to a proposal for dialogue with a president elected by the citizens themselves."
