There is still an alert in Sardinia for the hydrogeological risk linked to possible thunderstorms.

As the island experiences its hottest period, with a heat wave expected to continue through the end of the month, the Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow criticality warning, valid from 2:00 PM today until 6:00 PM tomorrow, June 25.

The area affected by possible disturbances, even particularly localized, will extend from the western sectors to cover the entire regional territory, with the exception of Sulcis and Gallura.

Yesterday, intense events were recorded in numerous areas of the island, from Sarcidano to Sassari. In addition to the hydrogeological risk, there is also the potential for electrical activity: in Bolotana and Nurri, two fires were confirmed to have been caused by lightning strikes.
