Caught while stealing fuel from the tanks of several buses using a rubber hose , two young men were arrested by the Carabinieri in Santadi during an overnight operation . Officers from the local station, supported by their colleagues from Narcao, intervened and apprehended the two red-handed. The charge, as stated in a Carabinieri statement, is aggravated theft . The operation is the result of an investigative activity initiated after a local company reported suspicious shortages of diesel fuel from its vehicles parked in the yard.

The breakthrough came thanks to video surveillance footage, which identified a suspicious car and several individuals siphoning fuel from parked vehicles. Based on this information, the Carabinieri organized targeted surveillance operations that continued for several days. Last night, stationed near the company, the officers noticed the vehicle arriving . Shortly thereafter, when the duo began stealing diesel fuel, they launched the raid.

The patrols that responded to the incident stopped them on the spot. The two arrested are a 28-year-old fisherman and a 23-year-old unemployed man, already known to law enforcement. The entire haul was recovered and returned to the company.
