Ribbon cutting in Santa Teresa Gallura for the new rural fire brigade, activated to prevent and put out fires in an area characterized by a 560-hectare nature reserve with valuable trees and which also includes the Arcipelago Park of Madeleine.

The undersecretary for the Interior, Emanuele Prisco , took part in the inauguration: «Thanks also to the agreement stipulated between the fire brigade and the Region of Sardinia and the municipal administrations, not only is the rescue device strengthened in the periods of the year in which the risk of fires are greater, with preventive activities in the area at risk, but seasonal bases are activated, the so-called summer garrisons, such as that of Valledoria», said Prisco.

The undersecretary also declared that in the last few months, firefighters will be recruited for around 1,800 personnel, as well as an impressive supply of newer and safer vehicles. An important share of investments is also foreseen in the Pnrr and the projects involving the national body of firefighters with the purchase of an impressive number of new vehicles are even ahead of their time by a year».
