The Carabinieri returned to via Dante for new surveys on the street where Francesco Salis, 44, a bricklayer, was killed with a gunshot on Friday night. And other useful elements to further define the picture could arrive today during the validation hearing of Andrea Giuntoli, the 43-year-old accused of voluntary homicide. In the meantime, the autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, ordered by the prosecutor Andrea Chelo.
The investigation
The picture is taking shape, but as already emerged from the first findings, it seems that the violent reaction was triggered by the classic "trivial reasons".
The two allegedly started arguing in a bar, then they arranged to meet in via Dante to clear things up. It seems in fact that Giuntoli had made comments about a niece of Salis, unwelcome comments and the bricklayer wanted to clarify. But in the street a few steps from the elementary school, there was another argument as also emerges from the images of the cameras and from some testimonies.
Salis would have shown up with a stick, then he would have grabbed a billhook perhaps to be more convincing. Giuntoli had the hunting rifle with him, then the fight and that blow to the abdomen that left no escape for the 44-year-old. The worker walked away but shortly after was tracked down in his home: he immediately admitted his responsibilities. The investigators are examining the images from the cameras that will be decisive.
