Disinfestation and sanitation intervention this morning in Piazza Lao Silesu and surroundings, in the Sant'Elia district in Cagliari, aimed at eradicating and preventing the presence of ticks, cockroaches and mosquitoes in the area.
The operation, in which the metropolitan councilor responsible for the environment Roberto Mura also took part, was carried out by the staff of the Antinsect Center using three vehicles equipped with atomizers to fight harmful insects. The products used are low environmental impact based on pure cypermethrin, a concentrated insecticide effective against flying and crawling insects that acts with a very rapid killing action.
A second intervention will be carried out on Friday 27 May in the Giorgino Fishing Village, starting at 8am. The area will be closed to people and animals until 1pm.
"We are working in agreement with the municipalities to simplify the reporting procedure by citizens, in particular by designating a municipal contact person in charge of sorting requests for disinfestation", announces the metropolitan councilor delegated to the environment Roberto Mura. “Citizens' reports of specific emergencies are added to the pest control program periodically implemented by the Environmental Protection sector throughout the Metropolitan City”.
