Intervention in the early afternoon of the Coast Guard of Sant'Antioco for a motor boat of about 6 meters that took on water near Porto Pino, in the Municipality of Sant'Anna Arresi.

Employee M / V CP 812 was immediately sent. The AW139 helicopter of the Coast Guard also intervened which, engaged in a low-altitude patrol flight, due to the jagged coast and full of inlets, intercepted the boat with the man on board near Cala Piombo.

Already tilted on one side and half sunk, it was about to crash on the rocks also due to the worsening of the weather conditions, with strong wind and sea with formed waves. The rescuers launched into the sea from the helicopter, hoisting the castaway onto the Coast Guard aircraft with the supplied winch.

In the landing area, in the port of Sant'Antioco, there were already two patrol cars with the Commander and the staff of the Maritime District Office of the local Coast Guard, as well as the ambulance of the 118 of Carbonia to provide assistance. The victim had a principle of hypothermia and was assisted by the medical staff on the spot. Once he recovered, he was able to embrace his family members who had in the meantime arrived in the port of Sant'Antioco.
