During a routine territorial control operation, the Carabinieri of the Sanluri station reported a 38-year-old unemployed man, already known to the police, for the crimes of resisting a public official and carrying objects capable of causing offences.

It all started when officers, patrolling the town of Sanluri, spotted a Ford Focus and ordered it to stop. However, the driver accelerated sharply, sparking a chase through the town's streets.

The escape ended shortly thereafter on the outskirts of town, where officers were able to apprehend him. With the assistance of colleagues from the Villanovafranca and Gesturi stations , a search was conducted, during which a homemade knife was found and seized. The Carabinieri also recovered a plastic container containing minimal residues of a "suspicious substance," which the man had discarded during the frantic pursuit.

Fortunately, the operation ended without anyone being injured.
