A packed church tonight in San Vito for the funeral of former mayor Giorgio Buccelli. Many old friends were present, but above all fellow villagers and many people who came from nearby towns in Sarrabus to honor the memory of a mayor who governed his town from 1978 to 2001.

The words of the parish priest during the homily were touching. After the mass, a procession of faithful reached the nearby cemetery where the burial ceremony took place. Giorgio Bucelli was 85 years old.

During his political career, in addition to his role as mayor of San Vito, he was the first president of the 22nd district of Sarrabus Gerrei, which became a mountain community in 1978. He also served as a member of the USL n° 18 of Sarrabus-Gerrei-Trexenta.
