In San Vero Milis the tragedy of January 16, 1946 will be remembered once again, when a war remnant exploded in the town, causing twelve victims, including five small children who were playing in via Armando Diaz at that moment. The Municipality is organizing a day to remember that sad event that affected the entire community.

Several initiatives are scheduled for Thursday, January 16. They will start at 10:45. The meeting point is at the Town Hall. The citizens in procession will reach the monument on Via Armando Diaz. The commemoration ceremony is scheduled for 11:00; at 11:45 a tribute to Judge Cosimo Orrù, gold medal of the Resistance, at his birthplace. At 12 instead there will be the delivery of the Italian Constitution and the Statute of the Sardinia Region to the children of the first classes of the middle school of the Comprehensive Institute of San Vero Milis, at the Council Chamber.
