Dramatic road accident during the night on the road leading to Putzu Idu: Antonio Pietro Ghiaccio, 54 years old deputy mayor of Scano Montiferro, lost his life along the provincial road 10 in the territory of San Vero Milis.
According to the initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri, the 54-year-old was riding his Harley Davison back from Putzu Idu towards State Road 292 when he broke down: the motorbike had no petrol and was presumably on the side of the road (completely dark) when he was hit. First a car grazed him, then a second car hit him, making him fly into a ditch. Finally, a third car ended up on the motorbike.
For the deputy mayor of Scano Montiferro there was nothing that could be done, the 118 doctor could only certify his death.
The firefighters and the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile unit of the Oristano company intervened on the spot and carried out surveys to try to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident. According to what emerged, the driver of the car that hit the deputy mayor did not stop to provide assistance. The Carabinieri are currently investigating to try to identify the driver. The other two cars and the motorbike have been seized.
