San Gavino, visitors boom for "Open Monuments"

The streets of San Gavino Monreale are invaded by tourists and onlookers for the "Monumenti Aperti" event, with a rich program of events, thanks to the organization of the Imago Mundi association, more than 20 associations, schools, local authorities and 250 overall volunteers, many cultural places in the country have been opened.
There are many sites to visit, such as the church of San Gavino Martire, the convent of Santa Lucia, the Due Fonderie museum, the Dona Maxima house museum with 140 student guides, accompanied by the teachers of the Eleonora d'Arborea comprehensive institute and the high school Marconi-Lussu. There are dramatizations and guided tours curated by the associations Come.te, Compagnia Medievale Monreale, Curatoria Monreale and Seniors always young.
Also accessible are the church of Santa Teresa, the church of Santa Chiara, the marvelous Casa del Ricamo by Chiara Atzori, the open-air museum of street art offered by the expert guide of the Skizzo association.
An edition without limitations and favored by the pleasant spring climate: "Many associations present free of charge and with a great spirit of collaboration on the sites for assistance in the InfoPoints", says the councilor Silvia Mamusa. «Among others, the partnerships Monreal Soccorso, Team Soccorso, Euro 2001, Proloco, Anziani Semper Giovani (with a refreshment point for students) and the SAI Hospitality and Integration System.
