In San Gavino the passion for masks is very strong and now, in the height of the summer, the second edition of the summer carnival arrives, organized by the Municipality and Pro Loco.

The appointment will be on July 15th from 5pm onwards in the streets of the town to then arrive at the final meeting in the Convent area.

«This second edition – explains the councilor for major events Nicola Ennas – is the testimony that the project can develop and grow as well as strengthen the active collaboration of the historical groups, the Pro Loco and the municipal administration. From the point of view of tourism promotion linked to papier-mâché, the summer carnival can be attractive for a target of seasonal visitors who pass through our area. The survival of the historic Sangavinese carnival is subordinated to the ability to pass on traditions, this is the meaning of the workshops with schools and the museum with the permanent exhibition of clothes, videos, photos and papier-mâché artefacts. In this direction we work to stimulate the community in order to renew itself and renew its enthusiasm and passion. At the same time we want to find new funding channels to implement the municipal funding that has flowed into contributions to the Pro Loco, a guarantee in recent years of being an instrument of continuity and reliability in the organization".

The president of the Pro Loco Antonella Caboni was also enthusiastic: «The summer carnival will be a great party for adults and children, with lots of colour, music and fun. There will be the groups Fibra Ottica, Rewind and The Music Express with the floats of music. As Pro Loco we are always available to organize events to bring the town back to life all year round and especially in the summer".
