San Gavino, floats and two thousand masks at the summer Carnival party

In San Gavino Monreale now every occasion is a good one to party and fun knows no seasons. So more than 2 thousand people braved the sultry heat and humidity of these days to participate in the third edition of the summer carnival organized by Pro Loco and the Municipality.

Shortly after 7pm, Via Roma, the town's main street, was invaded by a colorful river of masks who followed the music floats of the Fibra Ottica and Rewind Carnival groups. During the route in Piazza della Resistenza, the Pro Loco honored the many participants with the free distribution of over a thousand pancakes (fried facts) as the dynamic president Antonella Caboni, 75 years old, remarked: «The summer carnival has now become everyone's party and we are happy with the great participation which projects us towards the next edition of the traditional float parade. As Pro Loco we willingly gave our organizational contribution on this occasion as in the previous editions of the Sanavino carnival, which constitutes a great meeting moment for children, young people but also for older people because the fun has no age".

In San Gavino Monreale the desire to dress up is common to all generations and is part of the desire to escape from everyday life with colorful clothes, music and dances as the culture councilor Riccardo Pinna, 48 years old, points out: «Carnival is part of the DNA of the San Vino community. Masks and spectators enjoyed an evening of healthy fun and joy. Behind the carnival there is a long process of preparing allegorical papier-mâché floats, the result of the skill and ingenuity of local artists."

The procession crossed via Villacidro, via degli Ulivi until arriving in the Convent car park for the final party with music and dancing. The Sanavino group "Fibra Ottica" was responsible for animating the streets and involving those present, who proposed the theme "Hawaiian Party" and the Sangavino group "Rewind Carnival" with "Bubbles Fruits Party".

Now the appointment for everyone is for the traditional edition of the San Vino Carnival, which will involve allegorical floats from the whole territory.
