Road closures, parking restrictions, and off-limits areas of the city center: Nuoro prepares for the President of the Republic's visit.

Road closures, parking restrictions, and large areas of the city center were placed off-limits to ensure the safety and smooth running of the visit of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, expected in Nuoro on Saturday for the centenary celebrations of the Nobel Prize in Literature awarded to Grazia Deledda.

The official program includes a meeting at the Eliseo Theater and, subsequently, a private visit to the writer's house and museum . For this reason, the City has issued an ordinance establishing a detailed traffic plan with restrictions on parking and traffic in various areas of the city. The first measures will come into force at 2 pm on Friday 13 February and will remain in force until 2 pm on Saturday 14. During this period, a parking ban with forced removal will be in place on both sides of the roadway in Via Brigata Sassari, in the section between Via Trieste and Via Dante, in Piazza Italia and in the section up to Via Roma, in Via Demurtas from Piazza Dante to Via Brigata Sassari, in Via Dante from Via Brigata Sassari to Via Deffenu, in Via Deffenu from Via Pola to Via Roma, in Via Pola from Via Deffenu to Via Brigata Sassari, in Via Remigio Gattu, in Via Roma from Piazza San Giovanni to Piazza Italia, in Piazza Marconi, in Via Elettrio Corda from Via Dante to Piazza Indipendenza, in Piazza Indipendenza, in Via Salaris from Via Papandrea to Via Roma, in Via Aspromonte from Via Tola to Viale Ciusa, in Via Grazia Deledda from Piazza Adelasia di Torres to Piazzetta Ortobene, in Piazzetta Ortobene, on Via Angioy from Via Aspromonte to Piazzetta Ortobene, on Via delle Conce, in Piazza Adelasia di Torres, and on Via Chironi from Piazza Adelasia di Torres to Viale della Solitudine. During the same period, parking will also be prohibited, with forced removal, in the paid parking lots of the Piazza Italia complex, both above ground and underground, with the sole exception of government vehicles with passes. Additional parking restrictions will be in effect on Saturday the 14th from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Viale Trieste, in the section between Via Mannironi and Via Brigata Sassari. The most severe traffic closures will go into effect on Saturday. From 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., all vehicles, except emergency vehicles and law enforcement vehicles, will be prohibited in Piazza Italia, Via Deffenu from Via Dante to Via Roma, Via Roma from Piazza San Giovanni to Piazza Italia, Via Elettrio Corda and Piazza Indipendenza, Via Salaris, Via Aspromonte, Via Papandrea from Via Deffenu to Piazza Crispi, Via Grazia Deledda and Piazzetta Ortobene, Via Angioy, Via delle Conce, Piazza Adelasia di Torres, Via Sassari from Via Chironi to Via Grazia Deledda, and Via Azuni from Via Chironi to Via Sassari. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the traffic ban will also be extended to Via Brigata Sassari in the section between Via Trieste and Via Dante, to Via Pola, to Via Demurtas, to Via Chironi in the indicated section, to Via Spanu from Via Monsignor Bua to Corso Garibaldi, to Via Cavour from Corso Garibaldi to Via Roma, and to Via Veneto from Via Deffenu to Via Brigata Sassari. Also from 10:00 a.m. and until further notice, access to Via Segni from the section of Via Publio Ovidio Nasone, in the shopping center parking area, will be prohibited.
