“Rethinking the city”, the appointment with art, shows and culture returns to Quartu

The appointments of the review "Rethinking the city - Cultural Activities, Shows and Art" return to Quartu Sant'Elena. The initiative, which has now become a classic in the Municipality, is the result of direct collaboration between the administration and the world of associations.
This year there have been many applications to participate. In order to accommodate the requests, the resources available were also doubled. A further contribution of 75,000 euros was added to the loan approved in recent months, for a total of 155,000 euros. And the initiatives begin immediately . Already tomorrow , Wednesday 23 August, at 18 in the cloister of the Ex Convento dei Cappuccini , in via Brigata Sassari, the 18th San Bartolomeo Literary & Solidarity Festival – Quartesi Sessions is scheduled. The initiative includes an exhibition dedicated to the "Founding Mothers of Europe" and a debate entitled "European Union or European Federation? What vision for the future? Also in Quartu Sant'Elena the initiative of the blue bench and activities in schools?”, which will see the participation, among others, of Rossana Perra, municipal councilor for productive activities and the enhancement of the territory , and Francesco Piludu, AICCRE Administrative Secretary Sardinia and Municipal Councilor .
Thursday 24 triple appointment . “ Cuatru Cuartus de Scièntzia ”', promoted by the IDeAS association, arrives in Quartu: a series of 4 multilingual meetings to explore the boundaries between science and art, focusing on inclusion, creativity and interdisciplinarity. At 7 pm at the Nuraghe Diana evening dedicated to listening and observing with "Yoga, stories and stories", for a group sound meditation session led by a teacher, including sound massages, astronomical observations with the naked eye and with a telescope, scientific stories and anecdotes. Also at 7 pm, at the Tennis Club of Marina Residence, an appointment with the project "Significante 2023 - Sa rug e s'ispada", by the Tra Parole e Musica association. An initiative aimed at promoting Sardinian literature, told to children and families, with a focus on "Sardinian Fairy Tales and Writers"; starring Maurizio Pretta , Sandro Dessì and Daniela Loi Lobina . At 20 then the narrative concert 'Letters from prison, by Antonio Gramsci. Dearest Freedom, I embrace you tenderly', a Sounds and Tales production, with Living Canvas on vocals And Andrea Congia , who also took care of the dramaturgy, on classical/synth guitar.
The review "Citizens suspended - Books à Buffet 2023" continues, organized by the Artifizio Cultural Association, with the artistic direction of the director Carlo Antonio Angioni . Thursday at the Antica Casa Olla at 7.30 pm appointment with Sara Chessa , in a dialogue with Gianni Marilotti , for the presentation of the book "Destroying Assange"; readings by Carlo Antonio Angioni and Viviana Padiglia. Following, at 21.30, space for the concert of the Beta D Trio , formed by Elisabetta Delogu on vocals, Maurizio Corda on keyboards and Fabrizio Lai on guitar. An original and unpublished project in English by the Quartese singer, former backing vocalist for Scialpi and Laura Pausini, and singer in the bands Balentes, Non Soul Funky, Mr Fantasy. A sound journey through a mixture of indie rock, dance, live electronics and pop with a predominantly Northern European matrix for a Quartu open to international tourism.
Friday 25 new appointment with "Cuatru Cuartus de Scièntzia", promoted by the IDeAS association. At The Old Tipsy wine bar in via Porcu there is the "Beer and science" event, during which young scientists will talk informally about their activity, sipping a glass of beer together with the audience.
Saturday 26 returns "Books Buffet". At 7pm at the Antica Casa Olla the presentation of the book “Sillabario all'incontrario”. Ezio Sinigaglia talks with Michele Pipia, readings by Carlo Antonio Angioni. Candidate for the 2023 Strega Prize, it is an autobiographical novel that does not care about belonging to a genre, but has no qualms about crossing them all to understand the origins of the narrator's malaise, in a reflection as intimate as it is universal on the relationship with childhood , on family ties and the need to love and be loved. An investigation that touches on crucial issues: blood ties and non-biological paternity, the mystery of nature and the devastation of the environment, the scandal of bisexuality and the rejection of conventional roles. "Syllabary backwards" has the breath of a crime novel, the shamelessness of an intimate diary, the penetrating acumen of a self-analysis. All linked by a musical and ironic writing but also sincere and adhering to things like the language of children.
Between Words and Music instead proposes, again at 7 pm at the Marina Residence Tennis Club, a focus on the book "What happened to the Sardinian language?", with Maurizio Pretta, Anna Brotzu and other guests. At 20 then the narrative concert dedicated to 'Memory of the void by Marcello Fois. The legend of the Tiger of Ogliastra'. Starring Anna Brotzu on vocals and Andrea Congia on classical/synth guitar, also curators of dramaturgy.
