Rain and thunderstorms remain on the island: weather warning in effect until Tuesday night.

A new severe weather alert has been issued for Sardinia, where further rainfall is expected.

The regional civil protection has issued a warning for hydrogeological risk for the whole of south-western Sardinia from the Cagliari area to the Oristano area , passing through the Sulcis-Iglesiente area and a large part of the interior of the island, between Campidano and some areas of the Nuoro area.

The ordinary alert, with a yellow code, will remain in effect at least until midnight on Tuesday, February 3.
