Weather alert extended in Sardinia. After the rains and storms of the weekend, in two thirds of the Island the attention for hydrogeological and hydraulic risk remains high. With a new warning, in fact, the regional Civil Protection has extended until midnight today the orange code alert for hydrogeological risk and the yellow code for hydraulic risk in the alert areas of Iglesiente, Campidano and Flumendosa Flumineddu. Ordinary alert (yellow color) also extended in the areas of Montevecchio Pischinappiu and Tirso, and hydraulic in Gallura.

According to the latest findings from Sardegna Clima, in the last 24 hours in the Nuorese area over 70 mm of rain has been recorded and over 50 mm in Sulcis, while in the rainfall stations of the Cedoc system of the Sardinia Region, in the last 48 hours in some areas of the Nuorese and Ogliastra over 120 mm of rain have been recorded. The intense rainfall has filled the reservoirs, so much so that in some cases the floodgates have been opened due to the large amount of water.

The teams from the Nuoro Provincial Fire Brigade Command also had a hard time, having carried out several interventions during the night due to the bad weather, including landslides and sinkholes caused by heavy rainfall .
