Sinnai's Civic Theatre hosted the second edition of "Quando le stelle brillano," the event dedicated to awarding sports and athletes from Sinnai, which drew a large turnout from the public and industry professionals.
The evening was opened by torchbearers Pablo Orrù, Massimo Piludu, and Rosella Baccichet, followed by greetings from Mayor Barbara Pusceddu, who emphasized the vital connection between sport and the local area, highlighting the social and educational value that sporting activities have for the community.
The baton then passed to the Special Sport students, who were among a highly applauded group of exceptional athletes who excelled in various disciplines and competitions, demonstrating that sport is, above all, about inclusion, passion, and willpower.
Among the evening's guests was 80-year-old bodybuilding instructor Cosimo Orrù, who spoke to the audience about a life of dedication, sacrifice, and love for sport, setting an example for all generations in attendance.
Sports Councilor Alessio Serra expressed his satisfaction. "Cosimo Orrù's journey is concrete proof that sport isn't just competition, but above all a life lesson, capable of teaching you to believe in yourself, to never give up, and to always look ahead, regardless of age. The evening's success makes this event one of the most popular of the year among sports enthusiasts and others."
35 sports associations and numerous individual athletes took part in the evening, representing sport in all its aspects and confirming how Sinnai continues to stand out as a lively, attentive community deeply tied to the values of sport.
