"We want water." With megaphones and banners in hand, the inhabitants of the villages along the former state road 125 are once again protesting to ask for the construction of a water network in the area.

Four months after the sit-in at the Prefecture of Cagliari, dozens of citizens of San Gregorio, San Basilio, Villaggio delle Mimose and other locations found themselves this morning in front of the Regional building. For decades, about 3,000 people have been living with the lack of drinking water, helping themselves with wells and reservoirs that, however, with the recent drought, are almost completely dry.

"After the demonstration in June, a stopgap intervention was carried out, with the free supply of water tankers, but it is a temporary solution that is unsustainable in the long term," explains Patrizia Lai, a resident of Villaggio delle Mimose. "We know that the regional department of Public Works has delegated the network project to the Municipality of Sinnai, as the lead partner , but knowing the biblical times, we are here to remind you that a primary right is disregarded every day."
