"My third daughter was born in the roundabout of the State Road 130". This was announced by Federica Vivarelli, 27 years old from Iglesias, who gave birth to her third little girl, little Alessia, on Sunday afternoon. She did it in the most dangerous intersection of the State Road, right at the entrance to Decimomannu: "She was in a hurry to be born and we didn't have time to get to the hospital". The two are fine and are hospitalized in the neonatology department of the Brotzu in Cagliari. Alfio Lombardo, the little girl's father, is also happy: "I love my family, I'm lucky".

The adventure
"Sunday morning," his mother says, "I was fine and I was in Iglesias, where I live. After lunch, Alfio and I got in the car and headed towards Vallermosa, where a friend of ours was waiting for us who needed a ride to Cagliari. And it was in Vallermosa that I started to feel the first pains."
Having embarked on the journey to the island's capital, Vivarelli felt a strong contraction at around 6:30 p.m. at kilometer 13 of the state road: "I asked my husband to stop in the first available lay-by, near the "roundabout of death"". And so, in a few seconds, the most dangerous intersection in Sardinia was transformed into the "roundabout of life": "Something unexpected. When we saw his little head pop out on the seat of the car we were literally shocked".
Despite the emotion, the two parents were also quick to get her out of danger: "When we welcomed her into our arms, she had a tight loop of umbilical cord around her neck. My husband was good at loosening the grip."
