The Minimal Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart say goodbye to Villacidro. The reason? The lack of vocations.

The decision was taken during the last general chapter of the order and the new mother general, Sister Annalisa Colli, "with great regret", communicated the decision to interrupt the presence of the nuns in Villacidro.

The announcement was made on Facebook, through a post published on the page of the Parish of Santa Barbara di Villacidro, where we read: “This choice, in the air for some time, was made due to the serious lack of vocations. After 75 years of service for the benefit of the entire Villacidro community, spent in the education and training of children, young people and families, the current numbers of the Minimal Sisters do not allow them to continue their presence in Villacidro ".

"However - adds the note - their departure will not result in the closure of the Mauri Kindergarten which, God willing, will continue its service with lay staff, even if it will have to do without the precious collaboration of the religious".

"The spirit and imprint of the Sisters, founded by Blessed Maria Margherita Caiani, will remain among the founding values of our school. Their departure is expected at the end of the school year.

In learning the news with sadness - concludes the post - we invite everyone to pray to the Lord so that he may continue to arouse vocations to consecrated, religious and presbyteral life ".
