He introduced himself to clients as the accountant “Salvatore” and followed, collecting fees, the procedures for non-existent adoptions. A 63-year-old man, resident in Olbia, is the recipient of the documents of two criminal proceedings opened by the Tempio Prosecutor's Office for events that occurred in Olbia between 2022 and 2023. The crimes contested are forgery, fraud and unlawful practice of the profession.
The first investigation concerns the activity of a tax consultant without qualifications. The man would have received clients in a studio on Viale Aldo Moro in Olbia, dealing with family allowances, tax returns and accounting. But the practices would never have been processed and for the victims of the alleged fraud further problems could now arise due to the missed declarations.
The second case was opened for a scam against people the man had convinced he could help with adoption procedures. A family from Olbia, in particular, had relied on the fake consultant for a complex adoption process for a child. The victims had been given false documents (with the Municipality of Olbia and the Juvenile Court of Sassari in the name) referring to a child who in reality does not exist.
The scam went on for two years, with several “trips of hope” to Cagliari and appointments with the magistrates that were always cancelled at the last minute. The family that was the victim of the alleged scam is being assisted by the lawyer Monica Cazzari.
The man, defended by criminal lawyer Alessandra Cocco, says he is completely uninvolved in the facts being contested.
