"He did not defame the councilor": Sassari, former councilor Palopoli acquitted

Acquitted because the act does not constitute a crime . This is the sentence , pronounced by judge Antonio Spanu today in court in Sassari , for Giuseppe Palopoli , a former city councilor who ended up on trial accused of having defamed Laura Useri who, in the last Sassari government, held the role of councilor for Culture.

In a social post Palopoli had criticized Useri's actions in relation to the Rosello Fountain, receiving a complaint. For the defense attorney Luigi Satta, what his client said fell within the right to political criticism.
