In ten years only a quarter of the 800 million allocated by the public for the Sulcis Plan has been spent on the revitalization of the territory.

"Defining it as a flop centers an element of truth but not when it comes to contents and objectives", explains in a long interview Tore Cherchi, former parliamentarian, former mayor of Carbonia and former president of the Province of Sulcis Iglesiente, up to three years ago in head of the office that supervised the implementation of the plan.

Cherchi speaks of the bureaucratic brakes encountered, of the mistakes made in the initial phase, of the reclamation of private individuals that are proceeding at a good pace and of the public ones that have not yet started, of the things that have not been done in the last three years.

And finally he gives a vote to all those involved, on a pact: "I give the first vote to myself".

The complete interview in the newspaper on newsstands tomorrow.
