At Elmas airport there are few service car parks and this causes continuous complaints and reports from private citizens and car rental with driver operators. This was written by the regional councilor for transport, Antonio Moro, in a letter sent to the top management of Sogaer, the company that manages the Cagliari airport.

«It is almost normal by now – underlines the exponent of the Giunta Solinas – the unavailability of parking spaces inside the airport with the consequence of forcing a large part of users to park illegally or to stop along the nearby roads adjacent to the airport, also generating road safety problems as well as disorder. Among other things, the recent decision to eliminate the area dedicated to parking exclusively for NCCs can actually make it impossible to carry out their public service. It seems reasonable to imagine - continues Moro - that Ncc minibuses should have areas to possibly share with buses both in terms of the possibility of carrying out the public service and for obvious practical reasons given the larger dimensions compared to cars whose parking spaces would not be interchangeable.

«It is superfluous to remark that, in the coming summer period, the problems exposed and already tangible in the current days will only generate further critical issues. Therefore - concludes councilor Moro - we ask you to evaluate the possibility of studying different parking management solutions aimed at guaranteeing collective public services and Ncc with adequate spaces for parking vehicles and for loading and unloading passengers as well as offering information and suitable solutions for the public arriving at the airport».
