She was looking for an apartment to rent in Cagliari and the opportunity that presented itself was particularly tempting, but it turned out to be a scam.

The victim of the scam is a 33-year-old foreigner living in Selargius who had posted an ad on a well-known site to search for a house. A man, using a number in the name of a 29-year-old from Taranto, contacted her and - qualifying as a civil servant - offered her a property located in Sant'Elia, overlooking the sea, 160 square meters and a rent of 450 euros per month. Without even making an inspection, the 33-year-old paid a deposit of € 900 into an account attributable to the 29-year-old. But then everything turned out to be a scam and the Taranto woman was denounced while investigations are underway to trace the author of the phone calls.
