The construction site for the rebirth of the municipal theater in via Marconi in Quartu Sant'Elena begins to take shape. The workers of the company that was awarded the contract have been at work for a few days inside the structure that was once the hub of the city's cultural activity. The "Il Nuovo" cinema which will now be restructured and readapted into a theater for large shows, and which - unforeseen permitting - will be inaugurated in the spring of next year.

While the Quartese administration is already starting to think about future management and parking solutions, with the hypothesis of the underground parking area in Viale Colombo - which is being worked on within the mega project to transfer the civic market - which could be useful in the future also for the theater.

The latest renovations date back to 2013, and then the curtain fell again on the rebirth project. Until a little less than two years ago, when the current administration in the Municipality took over the restyling plan and saved the treasure of over 2 million - financed within the Pact for the development of the metropolitan city of Cagliari - which was in danger of losing after years of stalemate. The maximum capacity - as envisaged by the project - will be 460 seats: 335 in the stalls, 125 in the gallery.
