A breakthrough has been reached in the investigation into the murder of 118 emergency responder Marco Pusceddu, who was shot and killed in Buddusò in August 2025. Four arrests have been made.

From the first light of dawn in Iglesias, Nuxis and Carbonia , the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Sassari, of the Ozieri Company and of the Iglesias Company, with the support of personnel from the "Cacciatori Sardegna" Helicopter Squadron, the Abbasanta Dog Unit and the 11th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit of Elmas, executed an order applying precautionary prison measures , issued by the GIP of the Court of Sassari Gian Paolo Piana at the request of the prosecutor Elisa Succu.

The arrested individuals are charged, to varying degrees, with premeditated voluntary manslaughter and illegal possession and carrying of weapons.
