A protest took place last night at the Villanovaforru Migrant Reception Center, housed in the former Hotel I Lecci.

Some of the guests spilled out onto the street in front of the building, necessitating the intervention of the Carabinieri, who restored calm.

According to initial reports, the discontent was related to the conditions at the center, but the causes are still unclear. About forty people out of over a hundred residents reportedly participated in the protest.

"We are gathering all the information to get a clearer picture," said Mayor Maurizio Onnis.
