Protection of the Punt'e Trettu pine forest, two people sanctioned for irregular operations

During an inspection, the operators of the Sant'Antioco Forestry Station - belonging to the Iglesias Forestry Corps Inspectorate - discovered some silvicultural logging operations carried out in discrepancy with the authorization issued in the Punt'e Trettu pine forest (owned by Inps), in the territory of San Giovanni Suergiu.
Following the investigations, Messrs CM and AA were charged with an administrative offense
It is the Forestry Department's duty to protect the pine forest of Punt'e Trettu, which – after being subjected to reforestation operations by the public administration – represents an important green lung for the whole of Sulcis. The supervisory action also concerns compliance with the technical-forestry regulations, which ensure the optimal management of this heritage.
