The regional plan for forecasting, prevention and active fight against fires, for the three-year period 2023-2025, has not yet been adopted . And this «despite the fact that in Sardinia we have known the hell of fire several times, despite the weather forecasts warning us of the summer heat waves with increasing punctuality, despite the fact that in recent years and even recently, we have seen tens and tens of thousands of hectares of woods and Mediterranean maquis», underline the Progressives with an urgent question that sees Gian Franco Satta as the first signatory in which they are asked to clarify the reasons for the delay and if it is not considered «necessary and fundamental to immediately make up for this shortage ».

«There is no limit to the worst – adds Satta – once again we are witnessing the total incapacity of this Regional Council. This time, however, one could say that fire is no joke , while someone is clearly tempting fate. The inversion of the approval of the deeds is by no means trivial, to give a practical example, it would be like buying the painting without paying attention to the frame. The Fire Prescriptions are very important and for this reason they must be updated annually but in turn they form part of the organization dictated by the three-year plan, something which did not happen this year. The Plan is the fundamental tool for the organization and definition of prevention but above all emergency procedures and it is the guide that marks the way for all activities connected to the fight against fires, both in ordinary activities, precisely prevention, but especially in the coordination of those necessary to deal with risk and emergency situations".

«I wonder - concludes Satta - how we can deal with such an important issue for Sardinia with this superficiality. The monstrous system of the regional administration introduced with the poltronificio law by this majority once again shows its fragility. To date, in fact, it has paralyzed the entire region with eight directorates general vacant, including that of civil protection. Is this the reason for the delay? In the meantime, entire territories throughout Sardinia are suffering from the total absence of surveillance operated, for example, by the lookout services which today have practically disappeared in many localities throughout the regional territory. I hope that action will be taken as soon as possible before these wicked actions lead us once again to count the damages, if not worse ».
