Disturbing episode in Porto Torres: thieves in action in broad daylight.
In via Tramontana the home of a 78-year-old retiree, a former petrochemical employee, was targeted.
The thieves entered in the late morning forcing a window on the ground floor, then headed to the upper floor, ransacking cabinets and drawers, in search of gold and money. But they found nothing. So they disappeared.
"I went out with my wife around noon to go to the doctor - explains the pensioner - We returned around 1.10pm and we had the bitter surprise. Maybe the thieves had been stalking us for days".
The Carabinieri of Porto Torres investigate the episode and arrived immediately on the spot.
The home of the pensioner was also visited by thieves a few years ago. But then the damage was considerable: about 10 thousand euros of stolen gold and jewels. Also in recent years, other neighborhood apartments have also been targeted. Now the criminals have started again and concern is mounting in the neighborhood.
