«Our initiative was born following some episodes of bullying that our children have suffered within the school, abuse and death threats against children who have raised their cry of alarm». Thus Andrea Marongiu who, together with Davide Curreli and Vivaldo Romeo Rais, are the parents of those students who asked for help following unpleasant experiences of violence, and to find answers they became the creators of "A kick to bullying", the event promoted by the cultural sports association "Gianni Fresu" which will take place on Saturday 29 June in Porto Torres, a sporting-benefit event divided into two phases with a significant focus on the role of sport, in particular football in the prevention and fight against bullying . At their side also Marco Pireddu and Salvatore Fresu, who intervened to provide support in the technical-logistic-organizational direction of the day entirely dedicated to the theme of aggressive behavior at school, with particular attention to the point of view of adolescents and on the importance and role that sport, in particular football, could play in the fight against the phenomenon and in the prevention of its manifestations and on the importance of the group in the processes of enhancing the self-esteem of young people.
The event will see the extraordinary participation of sportsmen and former professional footballers such as Andrea Bagnoli, who will share their personal and sporting experiences. The first part of the program will begin at 11am in the Filippo Canu room, with a conference presenting the topic and a debate on the phenomenon of bullying, moderated by the sports journalist Vittorio Sanna. He will dialogue with experts, such as Riccardo Pazzona (sports psychologist), Mario Pireddu (teacher of Technologies at the University of Tuscia) and Salvatore Erittu (Italian boxing champion), who will discuss with the kids and collect the testimonies of numerous former professional footballers, expert sports managers and sector psychologists on the role of sport in combating bullying.
In the second phase, starting from 5pm, the quadrangular "A football against Bullying" will take place at the municipal stadium of Campanedda which will involve the representatives of the categories of very young people and students of Porto Torres football, a representative of the parents of the young footballers and a representative of amateur footballers. The participation of former football glories will also be included in these 4 teams. At 9pm at "Villa Noce" dinner with musical entertainment, during which the awards ceremony for the 1st Quadrangular "A kick to Bullying" will take place. The proceeds will be donated entirely to the "Gianni Fresu" association to complete charitable projects for less fortunate boys and girls. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Porto Torres and supported by the Sardinia Foundation.
