Unsustainable situation for the workers of the metalworking company Cim , a company that operates within the industrial plant of La Marinella, in Porto Torres .
Once again the workers showed up at the plant gates to protest against the non-payment of wages . Wages in arrears, insufficient means and materials to continue with activities. These are the complaints addressed to the Cim company included within the Cmci Consortium. And the company risks collapse due to failure to comply.
Regarding the complex condition of employees, the metalworkers' trade union federations, CGIL, CISL and UIL, sent a letter to the clients Eni Rewind, Versalis and Matrìca, and to the Cmci Consortium itself to request an intervention from the latter.
«Unable to obtain a response from CIM, which with a note dated 28 June communicated not only the impossibility of proceeding with the payment of wages but also the simultaneous cessation of activities in the ENI Rewind construction site, on the same date we asked for the intervention of Cmci», they write Massimiliano Muretti (CGIL), Sergio Mura (CISL) and Marco Foddai (UIL).
On Monday and Tuesday about ten workers showed up at the gates of the industrial area to protest against the Cim company which is insolvent .
The unions, «noting that no one seems to be really interested in the topic and noting that there are serious failures towards workers», have asked for the intervention of all the bodies involved, in particular the CMCI Consortium, «to overcome the difficulties that have emerged so far and guarantee , also due to the fact that in our opinion you can be held jointly and severally liable, the remuneration of workers and the correct resumption of activities ".
