Transported by ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata hospital, the 68-year-old was treated by doctors who put her arm in a cast. "She had gone to the house, owned by my mother who has now passed away, to fix some things, when suddenly parts of the roof gave way and some huge pieces of cement ended up on her arm ," said her brother, Vincenzo Manca, 79. "Luckily, otherwise the consequences would have been much more serious."

The apartment, declared unfit for habitation following an inspection by the local fire brigade, is located on the mezzanine floor of a three-story building, built in '59, which shows all the signs of decay. "Inside the room has become off limits, the walls show deep cracks and in the bathroom, a few years ago, there was a collapse, another near tragedy ", continues Vincenzo "so we decided to abandon the apartment and also give up on buying it because the state it is in is truly critical ".
